The saddest summery of a life contains three descriptions:
Could have, might have and should have.

Milton Glaser on the fear of failure
I saw this video of Milton Glaser talking about the fear of failure at Co.Design yesterday.
[click here to read the full post after the jump and see a video on Paul Coelho talking about the fear of failure]
There are other videos from design gurus Stefan Sagmeister, Wally Olins, Michael Wolff and photographer Sarah Moon about the same topic in that article. A central message is "embrace failure", there's lots you can learn from it and you don't know where you can get to if you don't take risks :)
The videos were made by students from the Berghs School of Communication in Sweden for the Berghs Exhibition 2011 from May 26-29 (It "is not about failing but knowing where it can take you"). Check out the website, there are links to other video messages on the fear of failure from people in the corporate, academic and art world, including this one from author Paul Coelho.
Paulo Coelho – on the fear of failure. from Berghs' Exhibition '11 on Vimeo
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud
was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
- Anais Nin
